The short answer? Because I finally stopped trying to fit into someone else’s idea of what an online business should look like.
I’ve been in ecommerce for over 28 years, and this version of Snarky Cat Boutique is the one that feels the most like home. It’s a place where handmade gifts, yarn, fabric, sewing machines, and two quirky cats somehow coexist. Around here, inspiration usually arrives with a cup of coffee… and a cat sitting directly on whatever I’m trying to work on.
SCB is what happens when a human (yours truly), two tiny domestic terrorists (Mika and Koji), and a dangerously overactive creative brain collide. This is not one of those bland “Live Laugh Love” gift shops pretending your cat is a delicate little angel.
We know the truth.

Everything here is handcrafted in small batches under the strict and often unreasonable supervision of Mika and Koji. They don’t actually know how to sew, knit, or design anything—but that has never stopped them from appointing themselves Head of Design and Quality Control.
