There’s a very specific kind of exhaustion floating around lately.
Not just “I need a nap” exhaustion. More like:
“I have seventeen tabs open in my brain, the economy is weird, my to-do list is judging me, and if one more thing breaks in this house I may dissolve into glitter and cat hair.”
That kind of exhaustion.
And yet somehow… we keep going.
Not because life suddenly gets easier.
Not because we magically become organized productivity gurus.
But because of tiny things.Tiny rituals.
Tiny comforts.
Tiny ridiculous moments that quietly keep us stitched together.
For me, some of those moments involve coffee, warm lighting, creative chaos, and two furry little supervisors who contribute absolutely nothing financially to this household.
Koji, my handsome little black cat with his distinguished white chest spot, operates mostly as emotional support management. He appears when morale is low, flops dramatically nearby, and reminds me that maybe not every problem has to be solved in the next ten minutes.
Then there’s Mika.
Tiny tortie diva.
Professional boundary violator.
Silent negotiator.
Mika does not scream for food.
No, no.
That would be too straightforward.
Instead, she silently appears directly in my face the moment she has decided it’s time to eat. She will stare into my soul with the intensity of someone collecting overdue rent. If I dare ignore her, she escalates strategically by hunting down paper or plastic to chew on somewhere in the house like a tiny fuzzy raccoon with a personal vendetta.
Nothing motivates a human quite like hearing suspicious crinkling sounds from another room.
And honestly? As ridiculous as these little moments are… they help.
Because life lately can feel heavy.
Expensive.
Uncertain.
Overwhelming.
Running a small creative business in 2026 sometimes feels like trying to juggle flaming torches while riding a shopping cart downhill through a Wi-Fi dead zone. One minute you’re designing something beautiful, the next you’re troubleshooting printers, calculating shipping costs, answering emails, wondering if social media algorithms secretly hate you, and trying not to cry because your heat press suddenly decided to become “temperamental.”
But tiny things soften the edges.
Fresh sheets.
A candle burning while you work.
A favorite playlist.
Rain against the windows.
A cat sleeping nearby.
That first sip of coffee before the world starts demanding things from you.
Finishing one small creative project when your brain insisted you couldn’t.
Tiny victories matter.
I think we underestimate how much survival is built from little moments instead of giant breakthroughs.
Sometimes healing isn’t a luxury vacation or a perfect life makeover.
Sometimes it’s laughing because your cat looks personally offended by the existence of vegetables.
Sometimes it’s reorganizing your desk for the fifth time because it gives your brain the illusion of control.
Sometimes it’s making something with your hands simply because creating reminds you that you still can.
And maybe that’s enough for now.
Maybe we don’t need to have everything figured out immediately.
Maybe it’s okay if some seasons of life are less about thriving and more about quietly rebuilding ourselves one tiny comfort at a time.
So if you’ve been feeling stretched thin lately, this is your reminder to pay attention to the little things keeping you grounded.
The cozy routines.
The small joys.
The pets.
The music.
The tiny rituals that make life feel softer.
Those things matter more than we realize.
Even if they occasionally eat plastic to prove a point.
Ciao,
The snarkiest cat…
